Yahoo! Multi Messenger 10 Download - Login to Multiple YM Accounts

How to run multiple Yahoo! Messenger (multiple YM accounts) on the same PC ?
First, install
Yahoo messenger 10
then download this:
Yahoo Messenger 10 Multi Messenger (0,46 Kb)
it contains 2
*.reg files...Install.reg and Unistall.reg

To make your Yahoo! Messenger 10 become Yahoo! Multi Messenger, simply double click Install.reg

Done! :)

I just installed Windows 7 and Yahoo Messenger 10 and wanted to use multiple instances like I did on XP with YM 9.
If you're unsure if this is a virus and will corrupt your system or not, check it with your antivirus first (it's clean). If you're still unsure, right click on each file after you unzip them and choose 'edit' to see the contents inside. You can see it just changes one value for Yahoo Messenger in the registry so it's perfectly safe! The 'uninstall.reg' just changes the value back to the default.

How to install Logitech QuickCam (Messenger , Zoom Silver , Chat, IM, Express) on Vista SP 1

Choose your webcam Software Driver
Choose your webcam

Officially, older batch and most of the Logitech QuickCam Messenger is not supported and not compatible with Windows Vista, although you may misleading believe otherwise as QuickCam 10.5 software supports Vista is provided for free download. However, in most of the case, except Logitech QuickCam Messenger with P/N no. of 861225 and USB/PID of 08DA will fail in installation during the webcam setup, where Vista unable to detect the webcam even though you have inserted the webcam.

On the other hand, using Windows Vista Add Hardware Wizard will not detect any driver for the webcam, even though you have extracted the driver files from the executables, no matter the Wizard search automatically online and locally or been asked to browse and locate the software drivers on the unpacked location.

In addition, Problem Reports and Solutions applet may appear after the failed driver installation for Logitech QuickCam Messenger with the following message:

Windows Vista does not support Logitech QuickCam Messenger

This problem was caused by a compatibility issue between Windows Vista and Logitech QuickCam Messenger.

Logitech QuickCam Messenger was created by Logitech, Inc..

Recommendation
—————-
To search for similar devices that are compatible with this version of Windows, visit the Windows Vista Hardware Compatibility List website online.

However, it’s not totally out of hope for owner of Logitech QuickCam Messenger who has upgraded to Windows Vista. The following hack will use Windows XP driver (a common trick to use non Vista compliant device) to install the webcam in Vista:

1) To install QuickCam Software Driver on Vista First download Logitech drivers

qc848enu Software and Driver for XP

qc1051enu Driver and Software for VISTA

qc1150enu Driver and Software for VISTA

-Install WinRAR if not already installed yet.Open the setup installer qc848enu.exe and qc1051enu.exe folder and unpack its contents to a folder. Alternatively, right click on qc848enu.exe and qc1051enu.exe and select “Extract to qc848enu\” and “Extract to qc1051enu\” option.

2) Then plug in your QuickCam and vista will try but not be able to install the drivers. This action is necessary because now QuickCam will show up in the Hardware Manager as an Unknown device.

3) Now go to Hardware manager and click on Imaging device or Unknown device in the list and
select update drivers.

4) Point it to the unpacked qc848enu driver and /find the driverfolder/then the Win New
folder/then the IM folder and click OK.

5) Vista will say that it it found the drivers but could not install them properly because it could not find a specific item/object or file. I think it faults here when it can't find SP1 or SP2,because they are not vista files."But it has partly installed the drivers".

6) Then you need to go back to Hardware Manager and once again click on the Unknown device
and once again update the driver only this time click on Let me Browse my Computer for Driver
Software.

7) When the next Box appears choose Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my
computer and you will see QuickCam in the list.

8) Now click on Have Disk and point it to the unpacked qc1051enu drivers and Browse to the
Driver Folder double click on it and then open the X32 Folder double click on it and then
open the IM Folder.

9) Click on the IvPEPIc.inf file and choose open then click on OK.

10) Then Magically Vista will give you a list of Logitech drivers to install.Choose the one
for the QuickCam product you have and Vista will tell you that it is not a vista driver but click OK anyway
and it will install the working driver.

11) Then go back to the folder whith the latest qc1150 driver & software download and
install it BUT PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT UNPLUG THE QUICKCAM EVEN THOUGH IT TELLS YOU TO. When it
is finished installing drivers and software and finishes the setup process you will see your webcam working reboot the PC.
When it reboots you will have your QuickCam product installed with the latest Drivers & Software working on
Vista.

NOTE: If you are lucky sometimes you do not need to do step 4) & you can go straight to
step 6) but this has only happened to me once so to be safe do all the steps and your
QuickCam product will work on Vista.

STEP 2: FOR VISTA SERVICE PACK 1

The above trick to use XP driver in Vista to make unsupported Logitech QuickCam works. However, with the release of Windows Vista SP1, the trick comes out with new error. After installing Windows Vista SP1, for some users who have use the XP driver trick to use the unsupported Logitech device, or attempt to install XP driver for Logitech webcam, the following error message will appear:

The device can not be started.

And the microphone attached on the QuickCam no longer works, where the system cannot capture or hear any sound via mic on the webcam.

Switching to install higher version of drivers does not help either to solve the problem.A workaround solution has been found to fix the error.

The cause of the Logitech QuickCam webcam error on Windows Vista with Service Pack 1 (SP1) is USB audio class driver, USBaudio.sys, which has been updated in SP1. To solve the problem that the Logitech QuickCam Messenger, Zoom, Chat, IM, Express and other unsupported webcam model cannot be used in Windows Vista SP1, one workaround solution is to ‘downgrade’ the USBaudio.sys driver file located in \Windows\System32\drivers folder to older RTM version.

If you haven’t remove the backup RTM files that saved by SP1 setup installer, there is a backup copy of USBaudio.sys version 6.0.6000.16386 in \Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\wdma_usb.inf_9ce240de folder. However, in normal running computer, the file is always in use, and thus locked and cannot be deleted nor moved while system is running. Use the trick below to copy and swap back to old version of the file.

Take ownership and grant full access permission of \Windows\System32\drivers\USBAUDIO.SYS file.
Insert Vista DVD into DVD-ROM drive to boot up into Vista Sytem Recovery Console and open command prompt.
In the command prompt window, issue the following commands one by one, follow by Enter key each time. The commands are assuming that the system drive (where Windows Vista is installed) is C:\ drive. If your root system drive is different, change accordingly.
ren C:\Windows\System32\drivers\USBAUDIO.sys USBAUDIO.sys.original

copy C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\wdma_usb.inf_9ce240de\USBAUDIO.sys C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ /y

Restart the computer. The Logitech QuickCam camera should work properly without error.
If you’re running dual boot system, or have a boot CD or boot disk supporting NTFS system, it’s possible to boot from other operating system (so that the Vista system is not running and not locking the USBAUDIO.sys file), and overwrite the driver with older RTM version of it.

Voila, you can now use the Logitech webcam to capture images or use it in conjunction with video chat in IM programs such as Windows Live (MSN) Messenger, AIM Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, Skype or run Logitech VideoCall.

This hack may work on other Logitech QuickCams that doesn’t yet or will never support Windows Vista too, such as Logitech QuickCam Zoom Silver, QuickCam Notebooks Deluxe, QuickCam Express, QuickCam Chat, Quickcam Orbit/Sphere, Quickcam Pro 4000, QuickCam Orbit MP, QuickCam Chat and etc. However it’s not tested. If you willing to try out and feedback is appreciated.
